High capacity mags for a Delta Elite?
I am getting my first handgun and yes the mentality is go big or go home....nevertheless I am trying to find a high capacity mag for the Delta Elite. Ive looked and only see the most being a 9 cap and standard Colts being a 8. I want at least a 10 cap on that. Does anybody know if there is any higher cap for DE mags?

You can run 45 mags in a 10mm delta elite. Generally works fine although if you wanted to use the gun for protection I'd use real 10mm mags. Also the wilson 10mm mags just don't seam to have the quality of their 45 mags. The mags are good but I wasn't as impressed with mine.
My elite with its friends. The DE is a nice weapon.

standard cap for a 45 for years was seven until they developed some different follower designs that allowed stuffing in 8,which is more ofr less the standard in 45's now. In 45 there are some extended to 10 shot cap mags. I can't say 100% but do not think anyone did this with 10mm mags.
Word of warning-all the 1911 mags in over 10 round cap designed to stick out below the grip you see advertised in outlets like cheaper than dirt- are absolute crap- never have I hear of or seen a 1911 mag with a capacity over 10 rounds work at all.
accept your 9 round capacity and live with it.
if you end up liking the 10mm (the key to this is being a handloader who can affordably feed the beast and load ammo up to full 10mm potential not the slightly hotter 40 S&W most ammo companies make)
and you want capacity, a glock model 20 is the answer.
ps a 10mm is close to the worst choice in a first handgun- fairly stiff recoil, hard to find and expensive ammo and magazines
the best choice in a first handgun is a 22 rimfire- no recoil accurate allows you to learn the fundamentals of pistols shooting for cheap. Consider this - you can buy two bricks (1,000 rounds) of 22 rimfire for about what one box of 50 10mm's is going to run.
if you really want a combat /defensive handgun for your first handgun (again not the best choice in my view- learn to crawl and walk before you run) something in 9mm makes sense for again lower cost low recoil practice with pretty good hollow points being very effective fight stoppers.
don't beleive the hype- the key to winning a fight is shot placement not power.
I have other handgun from family this is my first one I am buying. My Other hand guns consit of my Springfield 1911- A1 .45, Ruger Secuirty Six and Blackhawk in .357, Smith@Wesson 629 in .44 mag. And yes i do handload all of theses as well. And as for my plinker i have an old hi-standard .22 thats boss but thanks guys for the replys. Endding on that note is there a better mag of the other on a DE i read one post on Wilsons not working and only going with chip mccormick. What about Para ordiance.
10mm is boss hence why I am getting it

Yea I should have added a glock 20 is the way to go for a high cap 10mm. That or a 29 with the 20's mags. Personally I'd say a sf version is the way to go(mine is the fs) but it comes down to choice.
Thats in the works as my next handgun is getting a G20. Just wondering if i could push one more round outta my DE
as a side note some of the ten rounds for the .45 have worked quite well in my springfield

Its the mags that hold more then 10 rounds in 45 that cause problems. The 10 round 45 mags generally work fine as long as they are quality. You can always try one of them with the elite and see how well it works.
That g20 pictured in my photo is one of my favorite guns. Cheap(for a quality handgun), mean spirited, and a blast to shoot. I was going to pick up a sf version but might wait for a gen 4 if they ever come out. Friend got the 29 after shooting my 20 he liked it so much. That 610 revolver is fun too. Built on the same frame they use for the 44 it has very little recoil. Hella accurate too.
Welcome to AR15.com, clownbear69.
Yes, they exist - here you go:
9 and 10 round 10mm 1911 mags
Thank you so much. Main reason why I join ar15 is to get knowledge only thing i have to ask about those mags for brand is service life on them meaning are they high quality?
Meg-Gar use to make 11 rd 45 ACP mags before the 94.

They still make them, I have one and it works well.
I have used the CM Power mags in a Dan Wesson and they worked fine. (45 acp 10 round, holds 11 10mm)
I had Chip McCormick mags for my Delta and factory Colt mags. They were all std capacity so I cannot comment on extended hi-cap. I liked the power mags I had and they did work well with the pistol.

Thanks for the feedback
A Para Ord P16 in 40 S&W is pretty easy to convert to 10mm.
