Which HK for Concealed Carry?
Which one do you guys prefer?? Been looking at a P2000SK and a few others. Which is the best all around for EDC, I bought a USP .40 a few weeks ago and love it, now I want to stay with H&K. Just not real sure which one. I see a lot of you guys are carrying the P30. The dimensions of it seem pretty big for say carrying in the summer but don't know.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
To me the logical choice for CCW is the P2000SK in 9mm or .40 flavor.
The USPs are nice, but just too big for IWB carry in my opinion.
I suggest the P2000SK - works for me. I bought it after my P30, just because it was a bit easier to conceal. Love them both though.
P30 9mm LEM is my EDC and I have no problem concealing it in an appendix holster, but pick whatever works for you. I've been considering a P2000SK as a backup gun.
The Hk 45C is smaller than people realize. It is not much bigger than a G19

Not necessarily. I know there's a guy on the board that carries a Mk23 IWB. And I can carry my USP45 Tactical IWB and conceal it pretty successfully in a T-shirt. However, I did just get a USP9 Compact for carry. A fullsize USP can be concealed, just like a fullsize 1911 can be. It's just easier with a compact. Personally, I'd go with a USP compact, or probably the P30S or HK45C.
HK45C in a CompTac MTAC hides away very nicely

HK45C IMHO. I have owned the USPC and HK45/45C
Thanks guys. Just getting my concealed permit so it's all still new to me. Still don't know for sure which one to get next.
Any pros to having the lem trigger vs the da/sa as far as concealing? I would think with a good holster it would matter much.
But I could see a hammer possibly getting caught in clothing.
P2000sk or P30

OP
I purchased an HK45C first and carried it concealed IWB with out any problem in a High Noon public secret.
My most recent purchase was a HKP2000SK 9MM LEM V1 and I could not be happier it is very accurate, it conceals slightly better than the .45C because it is shorter in grip length, and barrel length and with 30 rounds of firepower it seems to weigh quite a bit less than the .45C.
As far as the LEM trigger goes I was skeptical at first before purchasing but now that I have it and have become accustomed to it I have to say it is truly a Very Good trigger for concealed carry, additionally when highly stressed and your fine motor skills are diminished there is no manual safety to have to manipulate , I am seriously considering converting my HK45C over to a Light LEM configuration.

Same here.
The P2000SK is probably the
best CCW pistol I've ever owned.
Easy to carry, very accurate, acceptable capacity and as reliable of a pistol as is made anywhere.
Thanks guys. Think I will go with the SK. Local shop has a 9mm, but I usually shot .40. How does the SK handle .40, much recoil? I would like to stick with the .40 as I have a ton of .40 ammo.

.40 is probably fine in the SK. The recoil will obviously be pretty snappy in a small pistol like that, but if it's your preference, go for it.
Mine's in 9mm, which I chose for recoil management and capacity. +P 9mm ammo is really effective stuff too.
OP
I have never shot a P2000SK in .40 cal. so I could not say firsthand, but I did shoot a M&P 9compact in .40 it was too snappy for me personally and I couldn't hit shit with it. I really like my P2SK in 9mm it is very controllable I shoot action pistol with it every week and my times and scores have improved over the HK45C which is what I was using previously.
Thanks guys that is what I was looking for. I was worried the .40 may be to snappy in the smaller handgun. I like the caliber in a full size. The gun shop owner is saying the 9mm is the best in that model just was not sure if he was trying to make a sale or not.
The P7 PSP is very nice for concealed carry. A little heavy for the size because of the all metal build. I usually grab that instead of my USP/C's.
I may or may not carry a USP compact. they are not that hard to hide
I alternate between my P2000 SK and 45C.
I do it just to change up from time to time.
Just had both of my daily carry slides refinished in cerakote. I tried to stay true to their original colors as I thought they looked great, but wanted a little bit more wear resistance along with lubricity.
I'm 6'3, 220# and both of these fit in the same crossbreed supertuck IWB holster just fine. I usually wear a larger T-shirt that is not seen through with both. If I contort my body in an extreme way the USP Compact will print... but never see myself doing a handstand or P90x in a public place.

Same for this guy. A P7 was the first pistol I ever bought, and it has stuck with me. It's the one pistol that I can just forget about when I carry it. The single stack frame makes it easy to conceal, and the unique safety/cocking mechanism gives me total confidence that no matter what I do it will never go off unintentionally, yet it's ready to go the second I need it. All I've ever carried is the P7 or a 1911, so weight doesn't bother me much. I had a 45c for a little bit and carried it on a couple of occasions and it felt much bulkier than the P7.
This..... Pick your flavor, 9mm, .357SiG or .40S&W

No mention of P2000? Isn't it smaller than P30?
P2000sk
i see what you did there!
I carry a USP .45C all year round.
Never mess with a .45
Besides HK handguns chambered in .45 just seem sooooo right.

I daily carry a P2000 LEM. I find it much easier to conceal the grip length than the P30 and provides all day shooting comfort. I see the SK recommended a lot and sure it's nice, I just don't care for subcompacts. I can't really conceal a Glock 26 that much better than a Glock 19, but I can conceal a Glock 19 a LOT easier than a Glock 17.
To me the P2000 is like the jack of all trades and master of none. It doesn't really do anything best in the HK lineup. But it does everything pretty well. In a perfect world I guess you could use the SK for dedicated carry and the P30 for HD and range use. But if I was limited to one gun for all, it would be the P2000.
I think the P2000 is a redundant option in the HK lineup I would opt for a USPCompact in 9mm over it myself, if I had to settle for only one HK it would be the HK.45C hands down end of discussion. ( for me) .

Owning both a P2000 and a USPc, I would disagree. The P2000 feels better, and definately carries better. Would probably carry the USPc more if I could get someone to mill about 75% of the slide stop off. I rarely use them anyway, and it is friggen huge. I will say the 45c is on my list. But if I'm not mistaken, the 45c is basicly the same gun as the P2000 only in .45 acp. So basicly it's a caliber debate, not a gun debate.

yes ive been checking the specs, nearly exact same size as my G23, that I carry everyday IWB
I ordered me a P2000SK Saturday. Be here Wednesday. Looking forward to picking it up and seeing if it feels as good shooting as it looks and feels just holding it.

I think you will be pleased. Just as you would have with any HK.
What variant and caliber did you order?

I absolutely love mine.....I think you're going to really dig it.

Mind me asking where your ordered from and for how much?
I am also curious about the where and for how much, as I am deciding between a USP 9 SD (with suppressor in the future) and the P2000sk 9mm for CCW.
I absolutely love

my HKP2000SK 9MM light LEM it has been 100% reliable since day 1.

The P2000SK is extremely soft shooting in .40 and even .357. Softer shooting than many larger pistols in the same caliber that I've had the opportunity to shoot.

You should try it in 9mm, if you think .40 is soft shooting.
Went with the 9mm V3, got it from my local shop who cut me a great deal. Got home to late to try it out but i will defiantly get it out this weekend and see how it runs. Will post pics tomorrow.

Great choice, I think you're in store for a lot of fun.
I promised pics so here they are.
and with the USP .40

Just got an HK45c for me. Now I looking for a holster to put it in. You can't go wrong with any of the choices you have.
Good choice.
Great choice!
I carry a USP .45 Full Size and a P30s in 9mm. I went with the P30 over the P2000 because of the options to change not only the back strap, but also the side grips. I'm 6'2", 210 and have large enough hands that I like the extra meat in the grip.

Yeah, I have the same problem. About the same size with big hands none of the sub compacts fit my hand except the p2000sk and I had to put the large backstrap on it to get that. Was really getting discouraged in a carry gun until I ran across this one.

Any recommendations on a Lefty IWB for the P2000 LEM .40? When I was working I used a Blackhawk CQB for my OWB, but working for agency anymore since I got hurt.
I EDC an HK45 Full size.

I use a desantis holster that was about $40 a few years ago, works just fine for me.

Fellow lefty checking in. My daily carry is a P2000 LEM .40 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Comfortable as hell and conceals on my 6'2" 180lb frame nicely.
p7 psp
