Anyone know if it's safe to carry a full size 44 magnum DE either cocked and locked or hammer down on a round? I've not heard of anyone actually carrying one ready to go.

Hammer down on a round is safe. That is the purpose of the decocker.

Desert Eagles have decockers? 'Cause mine doesn't.

Should be as safe to carry "cocked and locked" as any other quality SA handgun.

Cool. I have a nice leather shoulder holster for it and I'm 6'3" so I think I could get away with concealing it on occasion when the weather cools off.

The Desert Dagle safety disconnects the trigger and also has a firing pin block.
Safe to carry cocked and locked.

check up on your laws though. here in NC carrying a gun with the hammer back is considered pre-meditated murder

yup cocked and locked is how i carried my MkXIX. If i remember right the safety is what moves the firing pin block up into the firing pin channel. If that is the case then carrying hammer down on a round is a bad idea. But it has been a year since i have owned a full sized DE so i could be wrong. But at any rate, cocked and locked man...
