I have a friend who does custom Teflon Moly finishes and I'm wondering if you guys had any opinions on a finish for my DE.

This is what it looks like now

Since these are high-end pistols, I like to leave them unmolested and original.

I think it looks good how it is, but since it's not in my hand I could be wrong. I know mine looked horrible when I picked it up a couple weeks ago and the condition was described as "As new" . It looks pretty good when saturated with CLP though. I sent it to CCR on Monday for a custom color, but due to some miscommunication I was told they couldn't do it how I wanted after I had already sent it. Luckily I got in touch with Todd from CreativeCreations and we have something real lovely worked out .

I don't know much about this teflon-moly finish, it does sound durable though and in my opinion almost anything is better than the matte black finish on Desert Eagles.

I know what you're saying, but people put custom finishes on their high end 1911's. I just don't like how the barrel has slightly different finish than the rest of the gun, I've seen a lot of Black Oxide DE's like this, at least in pics. I was thinking something pretty plain, like a nice semi gloss black.

Thats what I would do if a had a black one. Abrasive blast and semi-gloss moly resin bake on finish. But I'm set up to do it too
I've been wanting to get into the DE game, and I thought I might save some money by skimping on the finish, but that chrome finish sure is pretty

Goku - You can always buy a dirt cheap black one and later on when you have the money have it chromed for $250-$400.

That's a good point - at least I won't have to worry about the pistol losing value
