 Need Help: Where can I find a Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI?

Guys,

At some point soon Id like to pick up a Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI. Does anyone know where I might find one in stock?

That is a tall order to fill. My dealer said he could never keep them in stock when he got them, and of course I am sure you are aware by now that SA has decided not to produce any more.

Just a shade over $500 for a parkerized model.

ETA: I'm a bonehead. My bad. I picked up a Mil-Spec, not a GI.

Oh boy... I REALLY am a bonehead... I did pick up a GI model. Verified via model number PW9108LP.

It's True, Springfield Armory as of Jan.1st discontinued the GI 45.

Temp discontinued. Call SA and find out for yourself. They are backordered out the wazoo and are attempting to catch up.

Discontinued...I e-mailed them and thats what CS said...Discontinued as of Jan 1st 2012..!
Not Backordered...
Maybe you need to call them and get your facts straight...?

Thats what I did. Maybe something has changed. They told me they were backordered to the point that they are were not offering them in 2012. They needed time to catch up on the backlogged orders.

They surface on gunbroker from time to time. I picked up a stainless GI for 490 a few weeks ago.
