Anyone have Trigger Work Done On SPO1?
I am curious what single action hammer instillation does for the pre travel and break. Also how is the straight trigger?
If you have one of these or the work done to your stock gun I would like to hear your tale.
It's the single action only trigger (straight trigger), not the hammer. In order to get the full benefit of the single action trigger the hammer should get modded or replaced with the competition hammer. Do a search, lot of info on the details.
After it's all said and done with single action only trigger, competiion hammer and little polishing the break and lightness of the CZ trigger was better than my Springfield STOCK 1911. Reset was slightly longer than the STOCK Springfield 1911. That's the main reason why I switched to the Single Action trigger to get the much shorter reset. The straight trigger took a little time to get used to like anything new.
In all honesty a worked over 75 is about as good as it's going to get in the mass produced semi auto pistol world without being a tuned 1911 trigger.
Cost isn't cheap and probally runs $200-$300 but it makes it feels like a different gun.
I personally like the steel SP01. All that extra meat on the front end elimates almost all the flip. Not ideal for carrying but good for playing gun games. Plus I can mount a bayo

Thanks for your experiance.
I am curious about pre travel. Your comparison is valuable input.
I would be inclined to have this work done if the pre travel can also resemble your stock 1911. Pre travel, overtravel, crisp break. It is important for me to know.
I am willing to get both the trigger, hammer and detail work done.
There are 2 types of straight triggers. One with just pre travel. The other with pre and over travel. If you have a choice get the one with both. A memeber here is getting work done right now on his 85. Don't know if he got it back or not. He can probally give you a 2nd opinion.
I say a worked over CZ trigger will be better than the stock 5lb+ triggers you get from a Springfield 1911, my opinion and only based on my gun. However, CZ triggers will never be as good as a tuned 1911 trigger. Worked over CZ's are very nice but the best triggers will always be from a 1911.
I've heard people saying their M&P's with Apex parts are as good as 1911's, statements like that crack me up and you take info from the web with a grain of salt. I've got a worked over M&P and while it's much nicer than stock it isn't close to 1911 territory like some folks claim.
That said I'd take a very very good trigger with many "boolits" vs a gun with awesome trigger and only 8 rounds even if they are big hole makers.

one small but important typo. The factory SAO trigger is adjustable for overtravel only. it has a hook on it. the czcustom trigger is just straight, and is adjustable for pre and over travel.
I just dropped off my SP01 at the CZ Custom Shop, they're local to me.
The SAO trigger they have is better than the one on my Springfield EMP.
They said they can make it better than the one I felt.
If it's as good as they say, I might just give up on 1911's... never thought I'd say that. Their triggers are that good.
They modified the hook trigger to have pre and post travel, btw.
Interesting. Hooked and straight trigger to choose from with both adjustments.
This is something to ponder. No examples to see makes this a good question - which?
Hook feels better to me.
But then I like round 1911 triggers.
Which is better? Up to you.
MAKE THREE WEEKS HAPPEN SOONER PLEASE.
Got my SAO SP01 now.
It's pretty darn good. I'd say there's 1/8th of an inch pretravel, 1/8th inch of weighted travel and 1/4 inch post travel.
Breaks at 3.5 lbs.
