I read somewhere that i can use S&W M59 (15 round) and S&W M69 (12 round) magazines with my Kel-Tec P11.
Has anyone tried this? Any problems?
Which magazine extension did you use?
I have both the S&W 59+69 series mags for my P11, no issues what so ever. I used the Kel Tec extension.
Real S&W mags fit mag well of keltec P-11 but USA and Megar have larger bodies and are to tight a fit in the magwell. I used the slide over adapter for the 59 mags which makes the mag conform to the grip. I also used the pinky extension from Keltec on factory 10 round mag. My P-11 was very reliable and plenty accurate enough to qualify with stages out to 25 yards.
Now for the next question...
I just picked up a P-11 for a song. it was marked "used"... I see a minor bit of wear on the chamber hood part of the barrel. That is it. So pretty much a new pistol.
Going to do trigger de-horrible job on it now.
Question: SW Factory 40 series mags... 2nd gen 4006/4046 etc... they lock in place. they work the mag stop during hand cycling. They hold enough 9mm rounds (a touch loose at the lips, but not too bad)... they feed rounds reliably (Speer GD 124 and 147 LE HPs) when cycled by hand.
Reason I ask this question... I has a pile of 40 series mags and no 59/69 mags currently.
I've shot tens of thousands of rounds through Glocks over the years so I'm used to risking KB's...
Anyone have input/thoughts?
Only difference I can see comparing a 59 series to a 40 series is shape of follower and tiny difference in feed lip spacing. I've used .40sw mags in various 9mm over the years to great sucess... HK P7M13 most notably... using P7M10 mags. Pondering swapping followers in a mag for 59 series and seeing what happens.
Someone please talk me out of this while I still have both eyes and 10 fingers.
I've used Ruger .40 mags in the past without issue in their 9mm pistols, but I've never tried it with S&Ws or KTs.
