1974 hi-power C Series value?
A guy is selling this, what is a fair value?
Browning Hi-power C series, made in Belgium in '74
It has a little spot with surface discoloration (most likely from poor storage conditions or holster), but some oil and steel wool may fix it. It looks a lot nicer in person.
Depending on how much rust is "a little".......$450-600.
Maybe a spot about the size out the end of my pinkie...most likely from holding moisture in a holster.
My buddy got it for $250 with one mag.
ETA. The rust spot isn't nearly as bad as I thought. It is just a little discolored spot.

That's a steal!

More like steal of the century.
True... When he called me to ask me about them, I told him it was most likely worth about $400 if it was in even decent condition. I told him to make sure it wasn't a FEG and was in fact a Browning. That is when he sent me back the cell phone pics. I called him back asap and told him that if he didn't buy it, I would....
I hope to get a better look at it in the coming weeks.
What are the best mags as far as reliability and price?

You think the HP was a steal...his brother got a Colt Python for $450. The only thing wrong with it is a little ding on top of the front sight...

MecGar (OEM for FN/Browning)
CDNN is a great vendor..........but they'll charge you Texas sales tax.
My buddy is now wanting to part ways with the Hi-Power. How much do you think it is worth?
I think he wants money for a new handguard for one of his uppers..
-I bought it

Its hard to give a value since we can't see that rust spot.
Even with a dime sized rust spot $250 is a steal......you could part it out and nearly double that amount.
The rust spot ended up just being a small discolored spot when I saw it in person (the prior pics were with a cell phone).
After talking to him, I think he just wants to put on gunbroker. I think it works out well since I don't really need it anyway.
