Without a reference guide handy, I'd say $250 for a "dragged down the gravel road" condition to $500 for "new in box with manual".

Decent ones run in the low to mid 300 range. Pristine, LINB more, but the really nice ones are pretty scarce. In fact 39's in general aren't real common.

Love mine by the way.

They are one of the best 9's out there.

If I remember correctly it was developed by Smith in the 1950's for trials to replace the 1911.

About that. Average $400 these days. They were cheaper about 4 years ago. Today the 3rd gen cop S&W's are the better deal.

Just saw 2 in the LGS, both 39-2's and selling for $329

One in Nickel with some noticeable scratches and blemishes on the frame, localized to about a 1 inch long area

One in blue, very bright and clean finish

Both with the wood grips in very good shape, no box or paperwork with either.

39/59's are really nice guns. REALLY nice.

They are nice to look at, but if you want a shooter a 5906 is better built, more reliable gun. An excellent 5906 is also cheaper than any decent 39.

Normal & Skid: Nice! very nice!

Just curious, why would a 59 be less $ than a 39?

both models, I must admit, are nice looking.

thanks

Supply and demand. 59's were cop guns for a LONG time. Lots of them on the market.

The 39 is also becoming a "classic" of sorts just by virtue of time and nostalgia.

I want a model 39 to make a clone of Vasquez's pistol from the movie Aliens. Blued and dinged up would be nice.
