2,I would like to add front serations to the slide its SS anyone know if there is a finish issue if I do this ?
3, Want to add an extended mag release which one is best fit and most useful
Thanks in advance for any input
i don't know any of these answers but i love my P18, i think i need a 2nd one, its my favorite handgun i own
I think the only mag release that is out there (other then stock) is the one from Gun Craft. You can try to drill and tap the stock on for the STI button.
Can't help on the other questions.
I bought a P18 about a month ago and it is the biggest regret of my entire life.
First time I shot it the gun when full auto after 5 shots and emptied the mag, and that is right out of the box from Para. That issue has been solved and then I started to replace the MIM parts and the Para frame is so rough the parts don't fit very well. After spending more then double the amount of time on it then intended it was working OK with a new hammer, sear, sear spring, disco, safety, slide release, and magwell (That even had to be modified even thought it was made to be a drop in fit for the Para) so I brought it out to shoot... 75% of the time it will not extract. There was no way I was going to buy another Para power extractor for $85 when the brand new one that came with the gun didn't work so I am going to sleeve the slot in the slide and use a standard 9MM extractor. Then I go to test fit the new extractor and the rear section of the extractor wont fit in the slide because the hole is slightly undersized. I have yet to put 18 rounds through the gun without a problem.
I know I could have sent the gun to Para to "fix" some of these problems, but I didn;t want to be without the gun for the entire summer or longer.
If I had a time machine and could go back to warn myself I would just go kick myself in the balls and steel my money... I would have the same end result as I do now... pain and less money. If I could sell it I would, but there is no way I could get any respectable amount of money for it.
Hope yours works better then mine... I had high hopes myself, but now I'm just a sad panda.

Forget the extended slide release, it's going to be a waste and faster to go after the slide anyways if you run it dry.
Mag catch with add on release button, Brownells had the Wilson ones (now disconnected from Wilson) in stock last time I checked.
The slide is cast, so standard milling for the front separations, and do a bead blast on the new cut grooves to blend in the air pockets if you run across such.
My 18-9 worked that I run as a 9mm major with a 320 bead blast finish.

The top pistol is a 16-40 limited, with both slide cuts factory.
