 Does the standard FNP-45 barrel fit the Tactical model

Hey all,

I live in CA and we cant have threaded pistol barrels in the gun & I'm looking at having my Dad gift me one for X-mas. Does anyone here know if the standard barrel is drop-in to the Tac model (I would assume but we all know what that makes).

Can you just have the thread protector silver-soldered onto the existing barrel? Maybe blind pinned?

I wouldn't have a problem, but wouldn't that prevent you from field-stripping the weapon? Plus I would want to be able to put the normal barrel back in as soon as I cross state lines (many trips to AZ & NV each year)
