Mine works well. With the Patternmaster choke tube, it will keep 9 pellets of Federal 00 buck in a <8" pattern at 25 yards.

It has been reliable with everything I have tried, (except for some really light reloads).

It does pretty well with slugs, also.

I highly recommend it.

Great 3-gun weapon

Get a quality extension tube and there are a ton of mods for them. Highly recommend C-rum lifter if you intent to load fast

Great shotgun for sure. The preferred shotgun for the guys that shoot 3 gun.

One word of warning though, if and when you do buy one, make sure the barrel on it is the one you want because when you go to buy a barrel for a Benelli......WATCH OUT. A USED barrel, if you can find one, will set you back around the $400 level, even more if it is a length that is in high demand like the 21 inch.

I have a 24 inch M1S90 and have been wanting to trade someone or sell someone my 24 inch barrel to get a 21 inch. I want to use it for HD use and some occasional range shooting at clays and think the 21 would be a better option for me. Well it has been a very frustrating undertaking to say the least. I am pretty much to the point of accepting the 24 and just getting a different shotgun for HD use like a Mossy 930 or something. Barrels for the Benellis are ridiculous in price and scarcity. Just keep that in mind when deciding on what one to buy. Other than that, awesome shotgun and you'll love it.

Good Luck.

take that last piece of advice to heart! I bought a 24 inch field gun for a very reasonable price, to turn into a tacticool defense and maybe 3-gun toy. By the time I would have put it in proper configuration I would have been in well over a grand in parts/accessories. Instead I just found one already in the configuration I wanted (or at least more evil looking... I know I'm a mall ninja). Sold the original, used the proceed to buy the new and came out golden (after all was said and done.. er sold, got an H&K marked "defense" for a little over $300)

I shoot a 21" M1S90 Field for 3 gun.... 10/22 flip up rear with Hi Viz flashpoint front will hold 3" at 50y with Federal reduced recoil slugs...Briley mag tube with (this is important) ISMI spring 13" longer than installed lenght...12" if you shoot Fiocchi Aero slugs as they are slightly longer....if you shoot slugs in cold weather to not put anything on a side saddle, the Benelli inertia system needs to move...for games a Briley Light Modified choke tube.. for matches I shoot Federal 100 pack from WalMart...the manual of arms is a little different from a Rem 1100 as to how the shell must be released to the carrier to load...It is a little overkill for a home defense gun (I want a light on my house gun)

My first Benelli was an HK imported M1 S90. I put 8000 rounds through it before I traded it off for a new one and the gun hardly showed any wear. And during all those rounds I could count the number of malfunctions on my hands. Most of the malfunctions were with my reloads(I was just learning how to reload when I bought the gun)and I only had 1 factory shell (an old lead round)malfunction.

I own several M1 Super 90s

(2) 21" M1s
(1) 18 1/2" Tactical
(1) 26" M1 Practical with 3 gun goodies
(1) 24" M1 20ga

All guns have factory extened magazine tubes and have been wonderful shotguns. Every year I attend a large shoot in the dead of a WI winter, and each year I shoot over 800 rounds in one sitting and all of my Benellis, even the 20ga have been 100%

Yep ended up with the 24 and dealing with it. Yes smaller barrel would be better, but given the cost, just take the turns and portals slightly wider in 3-gun. Hasn't been an issue with cheap walmart target ammo, Estate #6 and shot slugs at 100 yds in class at steel.

Mossburg 500s are cheap HD guns with both 18 and 28" barrels
