Mesa Urbino 870 stock - your opinions?
Does anyone have one on their Remington 870? How do you like it? It looks well built. However, I see very few reviews on it.
I have one on my Benelli M4 and LOVE it. I got the full blown version with the limbsaver and adjustable cheek weld. All in all I like it BUT the way the cheek weld adjustment works seems kind of cheep to me, it just slides into groves on the main stock.
Ihave the urbino for my benelli M2...,,,love it, the only thing i changed was swapping out mybenelli pistol grip onto the urbino and tossing the mesa grip.....just felt to squared for my liking
I have one on my HD 870. I really like it. The pistol grip and Limb saver do quite a bit to reduce felt recoil. This means my wife is more comfortable shooting it.
FWIW, my HD setup. Shown to illustrate the URBINO on an 870 for the OP.

I just put one on order. I am kind of surprised more people don't have these on their 870s. It seems like the best pistol grip stock out there. There are not that many reviews.
Still relatively new and a bit pricey...
doesn't the low drop off of the stock, smack you in the cheek bone?
I am actually kind of worried about that. Nothing I hate worse than cheek slap on a shotgun. It usually happens when I crawl too far forward on the stock. I will know by this Saturday.
Not really...

Well, I received and installed it. It really is a quality product. One problem though. I hate it. I can't stand the way the gun feels now. I also don't like the boxy grip. It is going back tomorrow morning.
It is too bad because I really did want to like it.
Is there an optical illusion going on here or is the drop of comb really that dramatic?
I have one for my 870 and love it, it's my favorite stock for sure. The only thing I didn't like about it was the pistol grip. So I ordered a factory Benelli rubber pistol grip and was able to replace it. Now it's much better

where did you get the factory benelli grip?
I have one on my benelli M4. I think the drop looks so dramatic because the stock is about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the standard stock. I have the cheek riser up 1 notch and it fits perfectly.
Other positives:
1. It is about 5 oz lighter than the standard benelli stock. Nice shedding weight.
2. It is shorter, which pulls the weight of the gun closer to me. Makes the gun feel even lighter.
3. The limb saver pad is awesome.
I don't find the grip much different than the standard grip. Maybe slightly more square, but I have not noticed it yet. But, I only have about 100 rounds through it since I mounted the stock
Bottom line for me is that my wife liked the M2. I bought the M4. She hates the M4 because it is bigger and heavier. With the Urbino on, she shoots the M4 just fine. And she LOVES the liimbsaver.

I bought one from Brownell's but I haven't figured out how to put it on yet. They are out of stock at the moment though.
