 Show me a multi-$1,000 10/22?

So I know that there has to be someone out there that has invested (?) multiple $1,000's into a 10/22.

Between all the special barrels, triggers, stocks, etc, I can just go to the Midway catalog and get over $1,000.

What is the most expensive you have seen personally or posted?

(and you jokers with the off the shelf $200~ guns with a new sight on it should just pass on responding. I'm looking for the "supercar's" of the 10/22 world!)

Well, Volquartsens ain't cheap. Their top funky target model is a tad under $2K. They have one model that is $2500.

Here's the one used on top shot, a mere $1600 bucks:

It isn't easy to spend $2000 building your own 10/22. The stock is a place a lot of money can be tied up, especially if you don't want off the shelf, and/or do want a proper benchrest stock.

A really nice Kidd action in an even nicer stock sold for $2,500 ish used recently on RFC.

There isn't $2k in either of these individually, but as pictured well over a grand in each of these:

Top one is a 10/22 receiver with a Green Mountain barrel, tuned up by CPC. The bolt was also tuned up by CPC. A Fajen stock bedded to the action, Kidd 2 stage trigger (3 oz / 3 oz), and a Sightron SII 36x scope. There is a steel shim epoxied in the receiver to limit side to side motion of the bolt. Has shot sub MOA at 100 yards plenty of times with SK Std+.

The bottom one is a PWS toggle action rifle with an e-trigger (electronic trigger, think pull weights in the 50 gram range), Liberty Kodiak TL suppressor, and Mueller glass. It doesn't shoot MOA at 100 but is pretty accurate, and ridiculously quiet with subsonic ammo.

I want to build a better benchrest rifle using a Kidd action, but am stuck at the stock. I don't want to spend $200-400 on a blank, $200 to have a stock made, more to have it bedded professionally, then still have to finish it (sanding, staining etc.).

An OOOOOLD pic of my day/night whisper setup. More recently I use a much nicer target rig w/ a threaded bull barrel, archangel deluxe target stock, nicer trigger, and much better scope. It's stupid accurate, incredibly quiet, and loads of fun 24 hours a day. Now I have a primary arms red dot on the folder pictured below.

I really want a toggle receiver and electronic trigger. I lost the link for the maker of the trigger though...

The most expensive might be one with a transferable Norrell trigger pack.
I think they're around $9k

Kidd Supergrade -

I bought this rifle because I couldn't find a used 10/22 donor and the difference in cost to buy and assemble parts was $100 or so. This rifle is worth every penny I paid.

If I can get caught up on projects, I would really like to assemble a rifle with a MOA receiver, but this one will be a special pure benchrest gun to go into a stock I designed.

www.customruger1022s.com

there are a bunch at that site, all over priced, but when you are paying someone else to put together drop in parts you must have more $$$$ then sense.

Is that a MUM NOD stuck on the back of that day scope? How did you manage to do that and how is the accuracy?

Yep. I used a universal adapter back then but have since improved the setup greatly. I don't have a pic of the new rig on my 10/22 but here is a pic of it on my RRA carbine. I now use a medium warne QD ring, a one slot YHM riser, and a small length of rail to mount NV to the back of my scopes. It's a lot sturdier and quicker to attach. The bottom pic illustrates the general principle of the setup. Accuracy is 100% unchanged since I'm using the crosshairs in the dayscope. This, especially when used w/ an IR illuminator, is extremely effective. Add a silencer and it's just hysterical to shoot at night.

yikes! All I can say is WOW to that one. Pretty darn fantastic.
I can just see at least half the folks opening up the safes now and just staring into them going: "Can I do that??"

Correct. This one cost almost $11,000, as shown. It's suppressed as well.

The downside is less-than-superior accuracy, due to the relatively heavy trigger pull and 12" Tac Sol barrel. But it wasn't designed to shoot tiny groups, just very fast ones.

Drool! If I ever buy a machine gun, it will be a .22. Nothing but smiles.

Thanks! The concept hit me like a ton of bricks a couple years ago after a delicious 6 pack. It only costs about $20 (better than $160-$200 for a universal adapter that can fall off) to set up if you already have the correct size of ring. The rig actually works better w/ the ring hanging off of the scope at the 3 o'clock position though as this allows easier manipulation of the scope's magnification adjustment ring.

I got to shoot my Norrell today for the first time. Wow. So fast, so smooth. And the Norrell integral suppressor on it is wicked quiet too....although I sold it to my FFL so I can fund another screw on and a 5" barrel.
