Just Bought Another
A fellow came into my work and offered up an 80s vintage 10/22, unfired, for $150. I snatched it up and rationalized it by telling myself that my 9 year old would use it. That MIGHT make the wife feel better.
Seemed like a great price. What say you? What to do with this "old" gun?

UNFIRED?
Stick it in the safe and keep it.
OR
Shoot the hell out of it.

Believe it or not in some silly states one is not allowed to have adjustable or folding stocks on a evil semi auto 10/22 unless it is a pre-ban
(Connecticut

Damn right, I class it with my AK's they are tools, not collectors items

Weather's nice, I'm on vacation...I think I'm going to take it out to the range tonight.
I just got lucky too, one came into the store and was able to pick it up for $125. It is now sitting in an Axiom stock and I am trying to figure out what scope to go on it. this was a slightly used 2008 model
That's good news^
Well, I dropped a "spare" Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 1.5-4.5 on the new toy and took it to the range today. The gun is amazingly accurate, moreso than my old stainless model. After breaking in the barrel, and just shooting off my AR15's carry bag, 5-shot groups in a 1/2" long string, or into a single gaping hole were the norm at 25 yards.
I think I'm going to invest a bit into this one, or maybe keep it "pure" and upgrade the old stainless one(it's stock still). I have visions of a Volquartsen hammer and mag release, KIDD charging handle and bolt release, and perhaps a barrel/stock upgrade down the road.
