Best place to buy a Mosin nagant?

I've had some bad luck with nagants. I've ordered 2 online and the bores were pitted and worn so badly that I couldn't keep five rounds on a paper plate at 50 yards. So my question is where is the best place to get a nagant with a nice bore? I'm not the interested in who manufactured the rifle or the year I just want a nice shooter!

I got both of mine from AIM. Couldn't be happier with either one.

Disregard....I just looked and they are sold out.

Have you bought one from Buds? I have heard nothing but good about their batch

Go to the closest Dunham's, find out when their next sale on these will be, and pick one out yourself.

You get to find one with a bore you like this way and Dunham's regularly puts them on sale for ~$89

This!

Or, get one from the EE or other trader board, where they'll show pictures or, at least, give an accurate description. It shouldn't be too hard to find a decent bore. I would say that I only see one sewer pipe, for about every 50 of them that I look at. At least half of those may have some light frosting, which is common, but they usually shoot just as well as those that shine.

Big 5 will also have them on sales quite often that you can inspect before buying.

Dunham's is our version of Big 5. I'm almost certain there is no Big 5 in Ohio. Same basic idea, from descriptions I've heard of Big 5.

Depending on where the OP is in the state, there's other gun stores that have a pretty good selection of 91/30s that you can inspect before buying.

Have you tried different ammo? I had a tin of Romanian 7.62x54r that had .308-.309 bullets rather then the .310-.311 that 7.62x54r is suppose to have. This caused 12in groups at 50'.

If you're close enough to a Cabela's they will have them on sale for $99. I was going to order online, but I wanted to be able to inspect it myself. The guy behind the counter pulled out a few different ones until I found one I liked. He said he had over 50 of them in the back too.

I've bought new guns from Bud's, but never a C&R. Mosins get very good reviews on Bud's so they must be in good shape.
