So after my Granddad passed, we came across this old revolver. We can not ID or even know where to start. I am not much of an old gun guy, so I am turning to you guys for help. It still operates, and pretty smoothly. It is a rim fire of sorts. The hammer strikes on the outside of the cylinder. I tried to get a picture of the action as best as I could with my cell phone. There is no, and doesn't look there has ever been a trigger guard. The trigger has a pivot point and will rotate up to lay flat against the bottom of the frame. I can get better pictures if necessary. There are no markings of any kind that I could see on the pistol.
thanks for any help you can offer.

It is French made, and is a pin fire style of revolver. I have one that is very simular. Your revolver is over 100 years old, and I would suggest searching the web for "pin fire revolvers". You should find some good information. Pin fire preceeded the modern primers used today.

Lefaucheux type pinfire revolver. Judging by the size, I'd say probably 7mm caliber. More than likely made in Belgium. If it was made by Casimir Lefaucheux then it's probably worth quite a bit, highly unlikely it was made by him though.

As already posted, its a rim fire. I had a box with several of them in it from my grandfather.

If that holster is maker marked it could be worth much more than the revolver. Vintage cowboy leather brings a mint these days.

this is looking like the right answer. as I am looking through the Google images for this, they are matching. I will have to look closer at the holster. Thanks so much for the help guys.
