Has anyone bought one of the SOG Enfield Jungle Carbines? If so what do you get?

They are typically a cut-down from an existing No.4 Enfield. They are most certainly not No.5 carbines, and often the FH and other 'No.5' parts are dubious castings from the coal pit in the back yard of a Paki arms 'manufacturer' (or perhaps somewhere in the Kashmir). Their quallity varies. YMMV.

I got a No. 5 that someone did a Buba job on so I need a stock and a magazine. Checked Numrich with no luck. Can a No. 4 mag fit
a No. 5? Sorry for the ignorance but this will be my first foray into Enfields.

There is absolutely no difference between No. 4 and No. 5 mags.

ORIGINAL No. 5's are very cool for what they were: fast, close-range, ambush response guns.

Sadly though, many decent No.4s were chopped up & cobled into fake No.5s.

The real thing, while cool, is miserably loud, kicks like a mule, and is LESS accurate than a No. 4. The real No. 5 also has "lightening" cuts on the reciever.

Buy a #4 instead and eliminate the wandering zero.

You might also want to see if you can find a .308 Ishy.
I have one that shoots really well.

The No5 "wandering zero" is greatly exaggerated.

The lighter weight, greater recoil and massive muzzle flash make the No5 more difficult to master than the No1 or No4 full size Enfield. When you make friends with the No5 you well find it's fantastic rifle. It's not a long range tack driver and was never intended to be one. It is a man killer to past 200yds with ease, fast operating, light and quick pointing.

Khyber Pass special, No1 converted to No5.

Handsome. I have a Faz No.4, and a No.4 I had made into a No.5. All very slick scout rifles IME.

Funny thing is that the first gun I ever shot was my older brother's No. 5. I think in was 11 or 12 at the time, so every gun since has been easier to shoot. He sold his many moons ago so I just felt the urge to pick one up. The one I got is sporterized, so it's missing the upper handguard and of course the cone. I'm still waiting for it to come in.

It'd be nice if there was a supply of surplus stocks. Mine could use a new forearm and handguard. Heck, even a decent repro would be nice, but the converted No. 4 stocks all seem to be rather fat compared to real No. 5 stocks. The contours just aren't the same.

I looked at their website and all they list is a barreled receiver. Am I missing something?

Try Brian at BDL in South Carolina. Probably the modern expert and source for all things Enfield these days.
