AOC is the only maker of the new semi auto Thompson smg clone.
There is getting to be more aftermarket support for these. New recoil springs for easier cocking. The oem spring can take both hands to cock. The new fifty round drums are well made, at least the made in usa ones. Several shops offer custom work. Out of the box you may need to tune up the feed ramp.
They are heavy, not that accurate and a lot of fun.
One of these days I'm going to sbr mine

thats my plan too SBR thompson looks sexy
Only other was the Volunteer Arms Commando. It sort of, kinda looked like a Thompson, but wasn't even close to the original. Long out of production (a good thing).
Not sure if you all knew this, but Auto Ordnance already makes an SBR of this:

yes but you have to do a form 4 plus gun shop fee for that plus in Iowa SBRs aren't legal yet.
An M1928A2 is one of my " bucket list" guns. Just a couple made before '86.

I really want one. I have a bunch of mags. Just need the rifle.
A friend has one and we get it out to fire every now and again. They are a hoot. Yes, they are heavy. But it's a range toy. Same as my M31 Suomi.

My step-dad picked one of those up for some reason. Really cheaply, I believe. Anyway, it feels like crap, and is pretty poorly made. Look elsewhere.
I can't remember the name, but there is a site out there that sells a bunch of Thompson accessories and parts. Everything from mag pouches and stocks to sights and springs.
