Parker hale rifles, info and help needed
I was at a little store yesterday and ran across a Parker Hate Targe in .45 cal. Seemed really nice, ballanced, checkered stock and in .45 cal. Also there was a Parker Hale 2 band Enfiel Musket .58 cal that felt really good/ Price was 599 for the Target and 499 for the 2 band musket. Are these good prices considering there is nothing with them but they are in great shape? I liked that the weapons had GB proofs and not Italian marks.
Thanks
Are these rifles new or used?
Lack of Italian marking could mean that they were de-farbed. Common for re-enactors to remove any new marking to make the rifle more authentic looking.
Price is not too bad, if new.
The rifle and carbine both had the BP and crown marking on them. They are not original say to the Civil War era and neither have seen reenacting time as they are in too good of condition.
So what mold is needed for the Whitworth? I saw that Lyman has one listed, and what I could find on the net said don't waist time with Dixie Gun Works molds.
