Hawken sling

just bought a leather slip on sling from cabelas for my tc hawken. im kinda happy with it but it ties on somehow to barrel, havent found a good or correct method for doing this part. any help here on that? and also anybody ever attach something like swivel studs to one, to attach a standard rifle sling?

I have tried the slip on slings did not care for them I installed swivel studs made of brass this was a while back so I dont remember if I got them from track of the wolf or dixie gun works the front stud was attached to the ram rod pipe the rear screwed into the stock the brass studs blended nice with the rest of the furniture its a more sturdy option

I made a burlap sling for my Hawken, still needing a clean way of attaching it. Some small, period correct looking swivels, I havn't found yet.
