Is there such a sport in the US?

Also, how likely is it that groups of NV shooters gather to shoot their guns?

I noticed the other topic posted by TNVC (training in Texas) and that got my brain in gear to ask my questions. I wish I was local, as that would be fantastic to attend!

I'm currently seeking a legal place to shoot 556 after sunset, I run suppressed also. Maybe the local LEO's will be nice and get back to me, on were it would be permitted in my state. Many say find private land, but I don't have any contacts at the moment. Plus state laws are vague and I don't want "to chance it" because of the class 3 stuff I own.

Find some CT area shooting forums. Here is a start: http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_8/26_New_England.html

Nighttime shooting is inherently more dangerous. I'd be nervous shooting at night with anyone who hadn't been checked out very well to be squared away. Especially a comp where people were running around in a hurry.

Lots of sites have local sections and I'm sure there are some New England specific forums. Ask around and go meet some people. Attend some local shoots. Worked for me!

Of course, the first step is to be VERY proficient with your day guns to begin with, very proficient. Get trained up with these first and practice, practice and practice.

Then get get trained up with NV along with people you know. Dedicated NV shoots is great fun with folks who are also switched on, this is where the fun really begins. But by all means, do this in progression as this will take some time.
