Question about XX1441 tube
Hi
I bought a night vision use XX1441CA tube , I'm so confuse about XX1441 and XD-4 , Which one is best performance ?
and what CA stand for ? I found some one get XX1441 BR. or that is stand for manufacture date?
My data sheet for my tube is Resolution center Min 30 Measured 65
Signal to noise ratio min 12,0 Measured 21,5
is standard or under standard?
Thank for any info. Have a good day.
I have had two of the 1441 dep gen two tubes off hand I believe one was a 66lp and the other 69 or 70lp the SN specs on were 21 and 23. They were very nice tubes clean spot/spec but I didn't keep them long as the low light level performance here in a very rural area was very limited without the use of IR to boost the image.
The xx1441 is a special case. Technically, it's only a Gen2 tube...
However that series is usually a failed SHD-3 tube, so depending on where it sits, it might be close to SHD-3, XD-4 or XR5 in terms of performance specs.
Reasons for failure can be blemishes or not meeting the spec - generally they are quite good and exceed the min spec by a substantial margin.
But it's a bit of a lucky dip as to what you'll actually get.
Regards
David

For a gen2+ device your SN of 21.5 is quite good, comparable to mid end Gen3 devices late 90's/early 2000 era (current Gen3 devices typically run SN25-30), the Resolution is pretty much great 64lp/mm is considered the standard for quite some time.
Thank for all , Glad to hear about SN . In the future i will jump to Gen 3 like ITT or L3
Have to keep money for a long time

do you have the photocathode response spec?
Honestly it sounds like great gen 2+ tube.

It's actually a failed super-second-generation tube - which is why it performs so well. xx1441 is the "throwout bucket" for photonis - so sometimes the tubes really will be second generation - but in this case, it's almost certainly a much more recent technology. it's just labeled "Gen2+" for expedience :)

Ok, call it what you like the specs are still pretty good.
i saw in my data sheet like this
" Useful cathode diameter Min 17,0 Measured >18,0
Luminance gain Min 5000 Measured 10290 Max 12000

Once again, pretty decent.
Enjoy your tube.
Thankyou so much all, i'm very please with my tube now

Quoting from few DEP-Photonis specsheets I have recently come across:
XW1441B ONYX - 65 lp/mm, 650 uA/lm, SNR 22.5 (made 2010)
XX1441AH - 64 lp/mm, 720 uA/lm, SNR 25.6 (made 2010)
XX1441AH - 70 lp/mm, 710 uA/lm, SNR 24.3 (made 2008)
XX1441AH - 62 lp/mm, 719 uA/lm, SNR 23.1 (made 2007)
XX1441AH - 70 lp/mm, 803 uA/lm, SNR 27.8 (made 2008)
XX1665H/P - 76 lp/mm, 788 uA/lm, SNR 25.6 (made 2007)
That should give you roughly an idea.

Thanks LL, so roughly comparable to Omni4/5 tubes performance wise.
Thankyou LL , Give me an idea for this tube.
