Has anyone tried one of these EagleTac TC100C2 MKII IR Flashlights?

It puts out 3.4W of 850nm IR unseeable IR from an Osram LED bulb running off a Lithium-Ion 18650.

Sounds like a really nice IR flashlight, I ordered one to check it out.

Osram also make another 940nm LED IR emitter but could not find it in a flashlight.

Whoops, forgot the link to the flashlight itself, you have to scroll down to the last choice from the white LEDs to the IR LED model.....

Three and a half watts of 850nm IR that runs 3 hours on one 18650 sounds super, I'll post some NV pics when I get it.

Not something you'd want to shine in your eyes, though it is not even ITAR regulated?

EagleTac is not E-Bay stuff, but I will post pics of how far it illuminates when i get mine compared to other IR illuminators.

The Osram IR LED puts out less than 5% of its total output below 800nm, so I doubt that that it will show any visible red and should provide an excellent throw with 3.4 watts of IR illumination on high and a low setting of 500 milliwatts.

I didn't know. Where does it compare in relation to other IR illuminators? Their website looks pretty chinsy tho (hence initial ebay impression)

"eBay, chinsy" website?
wow, actually we receive daily compliments about how straight forward and non-flashy it is? ;P

SkyPup:
appreciate your order...
you linked to the 4236 1.8w LED -
we are using the 3.4w Osram Platinum Dragon 4235

correct links are

We initially received a request from an elite USAF group looking to light up a football field area with IR - so we produced our triple M3C4 LED model in conjunction with three of the Osram Platinum Dragons - and this produced 1x3 football fields worth of IR. There was a write up about it one of the military magazines last year - our handheld LED light output more IR illumination than their PaveHawk IR Landing/Search light! (so yes - please be careful with your eyes)

For sample output see here...

Tod, thanks for the heads up and also I received the notice that you have already shipped it out to me via USPS Priority Mail less than 24 hours after I ordered it.

Thank you for the seriously fast shipping on my order!

Should be a nice addition to my growing collection of serious NV gear.

Whoa...... Thats just my opinion, but you got to admit TNVC has an excellent website in comparison. I feel kinda smacked up now. Was actually considering buying from you if Skypup's light worked out.

Don't worry, I will try it out and let ya know.

That is some killer IR LED watt driven output so I am thinking a good 250-300 yards and not too tightly focused for more spill and flood from the orange peel reflector, which is what I want to compliment my other IR emitters.

I use numerous OSRAM UV lights on my fluorescent microscopes at work and they are top notch, the specs on their IR LED emitter look top notch too.

The two level 500 miliwatt and 3.4 watt output is terrific too, that 1.8 watt IR beam should NOT be pointed at anyone who does not want their fovea and the rest of the retina damaged....

This nice 850nm IR Flashlight arrived today and will try it out tonight after it gets dark.

It is basically the same size as my Olight M-20X tactical lights are and of the same high quality construction.

Also has a completely silent switch with momentary Off-On as well as full On-Off, I use the momentary switch quite a bit on my Olights to scan with short periods of time.

The OSRAM IR LED Emitter is the absolute smallest LED I have ever seen, it is small as the head of a pin

It has two 850nm IR illumination settings, 500mw and 3.4W.

I am ordering another one of these babies, one for a handheld and one for a weapon mount, they work outstanding with a nice flood and spill! out past 300 yards and I never shoot over 225 yards

Game Cam tree @ 225 yards with the IR on, no shadows and clear vision into the treeline:

Horses @ 150 yards no IR

Horses @ 150 yards with IR

The pole barn in the background, that you cannot see without the IR flashlight, is 300 yards away.....

Tod, thanks a bunch, I ordered a second one for handheld when I am using my helmet mount, the weapon mount is superb as I can see clearly out to the maximum range of my rifle and cartridge, don't need any more than that!

Okay, time to redeem yourself and order one of these IR flashlights!

The high setting is full out a good quarter of a mile, the low setting is good for almost half that or 200+ yards.

The IR should last about three hours on high beam and more than 12 hours on low.

3.4 Watts of IR is absolutely incredible, but remember that is very dangerous to your vision and you cannot see it at all when it is on, so be forewarned....

Nice.

Are you zooming in on the horses? They look closer than 150yds.

Yes, I was using the 3X magnifier on the front of the PVS-14....

One thing to remember about digital NV photography is that there are all different kinds of way to "enhance" the photos you are seeing, either upstream in the camera setting themselves or downstream in the Photoshop software to make something look better than it really is.

I decided to just let the raw photos speak for themselves without any interventions so that I would have a standard baseline, otherwise the differences from one photo to the next would be significant and misrepresentative of what was really going on.

All I can say is that the real "eyeball" mindseye photos in real time are much much better than what you will ever see here on a computer monitor....

awesome!
looks like your light in aimed a little low though?
Looks like the center spot is down by the horses feet - might try again aimed a little higher - at the horses or barn - IF that is case?

also realize the 3.4w is our lowest output IR light - we do have a 5.4 and a 10.2w model
;)

How can I find the IR lights on your website? I looked in your 2012 catalog and don't see any mention of IR lights at all. I also don't know how to find them on your website without looking at every flashlight.
