Finally got a chance to go hog hunting tonight. I sneak from one field to another looking for my prey. Nothing was moving. Deer lying down, full of clover, watch passively as I drive by. As I lounge on my old golf cart listening to the night, I hear the frogs and the creek running from the recent rains. I see a bat eating the mosquito that was coming for me. I gaze upward and see a gazillion stars thanks to ITT. My cares and worries of the world melt away as I gaze at God’s Glory. Life is good. Thank you Lord.

With all the talk of gloom and doom and TEOTWAWKI, its nice to hear someone reflecting upon how good we have it in Texas (and elsewhere, too, I'm sure, but maybe not AS good as Texas)
I often smile as I stand motionless in the night, alone, watching a dark shadowy figure cross the treeline in front of me. I know its probably a hog and he has no idea I'm there. With the sound of crickets, the wind, owls and nighthawks, I can't hear its footsteps but I know how they slink along.... I raise the M24 FLIR to confirm its alive and thump him with my 6.8, suppressed SBR, wearing America's best technology....a Gen 3 ITT Pinnacle D-740

As long as we can legally have such awesome gear, the great outdoors, hog hunting, Texas laws, and the natural beauty of the river bottom....life IS good.
