Hello, My first post here, even thought I have been registered for a long time. I just read the post: ATN PS-22- Answers Here... Complete Review. Great review! I wish I had read it earlier. I've hunted for 50 years and have a good collection of firearms, but just got into night vision. I purchased an ATN PS 22 gen2 CGT two months ago. My first night vision. So far I've been happy with mine, no issues; other than the ATN 450 illuminator. Had I known more, I would not have order it. I works but is only good for 120 to 130 yards. I just ordered an extended range illuminator. In the review one poster said the CGT's had the shorter tubes, not allowing upgrade to better gen3 tubes, is this true?
I move my PS 22 between several guns an H&K 630 .223 and semi-auto .22 mag; H&K 300 and H&R 700. I have tactical scope rings with picatinny tops on the three guns and made an extended up side down rail, allowing me to move the unit between rifles. With the gen2 and ATN 450 illuminator I have to keep the magification set down low 1.75 to 2 on nights with no moon. On half moon or better, the illumonator is not needed.
