The A2 is used every night by most of our military. your pinnacle tube (if that's what you go with as most the rest of us have) would likely cut out for a split second if anything.. bright light will cut down on the life of your tube but in reality it would be no worse than other light sources you may run into on some occasions - unless your bunk firing all night

. They can take more than you think & keep running - but that's no license to abuse the safeguards & disregard common sense (as I do most of the time

) A vortex, blackout, or even a decent can if you have the money will give peace of mind at a small cost - the can, well a bit more costly there.... your larger caliber rifle, have it threaded & add a vortex or better flash suppressor - that's a sure way to tame its flash - not perfect but it works. just my advice - take it with a grain of salt....

Careful choice of ammo will be just as important as the type of flash suppressor.
