Of course I don't want to spend a small fortune but I do want something half way decent. I have used the aerosol type things with the glass jar on the bottom and I wasn't to impressed. Looking for something better than that.
Thanks!
If you are just doing camo patterns, the $15 dual action at harbor freight will work just fine.
If you are going to be doing detail work, I recommend a badger or Iwata. I bought the Badger 105 Patriot off amazon for abut $85 and had good results. With practice, I was able to get some pretty fine detail with it. A dual action, gravity feed would be my recommendation.
what are you going to be spraying through it? Atomization is key. I use a SRI Pro for large work and a Iwata dual for fine work. I really want a Iwata Eclipse but they are over 400 bucks.
I'm going to use dura coat. I'm not going to do anything to fancy, mostly just patterns and solid colors.
Can airbrushes be used with standard air compressors?
I use a Paasche VL.
I've never used it on a gun before, though.

Yes, you just need a regulator. A line dryer wouldn't hurt either.

Cool. I have both I use with automotive spray guns.
