it's pretty easy but you must have your process laid out before you begin. You need to sandblast what you're refinishing and clean and dry it good. Determine how you're going to hold the object while spraying as well as how you're going to suspend the object during the heat cure.

Use a HVLP gun regulated to the correct pressure and do the hard to reaqch areas first.

I did this a couple of months ago:

Does the sandblasting remove the anodizing or just rough it up

It removes it if you use the recommended media and pressure.

ok cool will lok for it. Is it hard to tape off sections? I thought I saw a special tape that you could bake with it.

I used regular blue painters tape to mask my barrel extension and flash hider. The oven dried the tape out, and left a little adhesive residue behind, but it cleaned up easy.
I used 120 grit aluminum oxide to blast everything before painting. I also didn't have a HVLP gun, so I used my airbrush. Ended up ok..

Prep is the most time consuming and important part of the project. Do not skimp or rush the prep. Also, measure the Cerakote and hardener very carefully and be sure that you allow anything to brush against the finish between spraying and baking.

I strip everything down completely. If you have a media blaster and a spray gun you should be able to do this as well hopefully.

You figured wrong. It stays, as it has in the past. May be someone's pet?
I'd still like to know how this differs from refinishing.

I might find it useful

Do they cerokote in gray? That would be a sexy look. Gray with black furniture.
