Cerakote Air Dry? Okay for Complete Repaint?

I've never used Cerakote, but have used Duracoat for many years. I'm curious about the Cerakote C (Air Dry) formula.

I've read of people using it on pistols, slides, etc. with good results but the Cerakote Website recommends NOT? using it on the whole 'rifle'?

They tag its use only for parts that can't be heat cured.

So is it bad to use "Air Dry" Cerakote C on an AR-15 by itself? I like the idea of no hardener to full. How would you rank Cerakote C vs. Duracoat as far as durability to solvents?

TIA

The ambient cures are pretty equal if properly applied. CeraKote is harder than DuraCoat but that can be a + or - depending on what your using it on. However the "C" series is much harsher if inhaled! Make sure your area is well ventilated and wear a good respirator! We use the "C" series for stocks, optics, PDA's, and partsthat will get very hot (it has a much higher temp rating than the "H" series.
