Grip Material Question
Im refinishing a recently freed, previously abused Savage 22 bolt action. One of my friends let the rifle go to hell so I picked it up on the cheap with the thought to do alittle work on it. I already removed the rear sight and filled it in with steel epoxy, cut the barrel to 17" and recrowned, put some figure onto the stock while removing the checkering but I'm stumped. I tried to use spray on bed liner for the pistol grip but it did not give me the texture that I was looking for. Often I see precision rifles with a aggressive texture on the grip area and I was wondering what that material was and possibly where I can grab some for this and future projects. Promise to post pics when Im done, its just Im not happy with the look so far on the pistol grip area.
