Otis kit question
How do you thread the patches on the kit? What was the difference between the inner holes and the outer holes?
You are trying to make a little teepee with the patch, the two different rings of holes around the patch are for different sizes/calibers. The inner holes are for smaller calibers, the outer holes make a bigger teepee for bigger calibers. Thats about the best way I can explain it.
It takes a bit of experimentation to get the patch set correctly for the caliber.
I found that using a razor knife and some standard square patches, I was able to make a much cheaper replacement alternative that works fine for most guns. I still use their factory patches in my "nicer" guns... I buy those in bulk from Brownells. Cheapest source for big quantity I've found.
