Should I get it?
I came across a Winchester Model 70 in 300 win mag for a decent price. Rifle will come with factory stock and a choate ultimate sniper stock. Reason I'm asking is that I'm looking to get in too long range rifle shooting and have no idea of the reliability and reputation of Winchester. I do know it's the push feed model and in the end I'll have about $450 invested. The rifle has a standard barrel which I know isn't the best option for what I need but I've recently started my apprenticeship with a gunsmith so in time I will be able to purchase a heavy barrel, thread it too the action, thread for suppressor, ream, etc. Will this rifle be a good candidate or should I look elsewhere.
If the stock is what you're looking for $450 would be hard to pass up for me.
I have one in .308 and it is a geat rifle!
