ADCO 7in threaded barrel, can i get it made 3 lug

i emailed a guy here on the EE about his ADCO barrel that's threaded 1/2x36 but i have a Gemtech MK-9K 3-Lug on the way to my dealer. rather than buying an adapter i wanted to know if there is someone i can send the barrel to that will machine the 3-lug into it similar to a TROS barrel. i originally planned on getting one of his barrels but i found a deal on this one.
the can isn't even at my FFL yet so in the next 7-8 months while i'm waiting i may free up a few extra funds to buy one of his. right now i'm just trying to get the upper so i can shoot it.

I think you will need to go with the adaptor. I suppose a good gunsmith could weld some material onto the barrel and then machine it down to a 3 lug mount, but I can't imagine that being cheaper than just buying a new 3 lug barrel to begin with.

It would depend on the barrel diameter, but they will most likely have to add material. If it's a heavy enough profile, they might could just cut the lugs into it, but most threaded barrels don't seem to be thick enough.
Notice how much material is needed for the lugs relative to the profile of the rest of the barrel.

You may be better off have the barrel threaded to accept a 3-lug, screw/pin on adapter. Will add an inch or so but
easier/cheaper to do than weld on or buy a new barrel.

For my Uzi, I had Gemtech thread the barrel and permanently attach one of their 3 lug mounts. Very happy with the converted barrel, and Gemtech too. My Uzi quietly vomits 148 grain projectiles as fast as I can buy them.

Nice to know guys. I emailed TROS and I'll be getting one of their 1/2x36 to 3-lug adapters for now, when time gets closer i'll just sell off the ADCO barrel so I can get a TROS 9mm with 3-lug barrel to replace it. Not in a real hurry though as the can isn't even at my dealers yet, have about 7 more month of waiting.
