YHM Phantom 7.62 on 300WM?
I have been told that YHM OK's 300WM through thhe Phantom 7.62.
Does anyone have any info/personal experience to clarify this one way or the other?
YHM says anything which fits through the bore of the can is kosher.
WM fits the bill here.
Just make sure the threads are concentric.
A friend of mine runs a 308 with 168gr GMM on his 762 and you can hear the bullet hitting the dirt backstop at 200.
It can't imagine a WM being hearing safe even with a suppressor.
It might be worth a 338 can as they'll provide additional suppression over a 30cal.
It would be best to contact YHM. While the can may be rated for 300WM, it might only be covered under warranty when using a 24"+ barrel.
If I were going to run 300WM mostly with a few .308s, I'd move up to a .338LM can. That way the .338 can will take much more abuse and still have the option to run smaller/less powerful loads such as .308.
