We know they are legal but most everyone I know lost theirs in a tragic boating accident.

Right now mine is still a TitleI so I haven't used it, but my Form1 is being processed and I am just waiting for my tax stamp. Once I have that stamp it is "say hello to my little friend".

I gotta figure those flutes on the barrel are basically for show.
At that weight, what difference does a couple of pounds make.

But I like it

A flutted barrel stays cooler than a non. I doubt they were thinking of saving weight when they flutted the bbl.

DD's.....hmmmmm, I've got a few of those laying around.

BTW, that Anzio Ironworks 20MM rifle weighs 100 pounds. I think they were trying to save every ounce of weight they could with that rifle.

That gun is disgusting. AND DISGUSTING IS AWESOME!! Is that considered a class III item? I always thought if you actually have the money to buy an anzio, it is yours.

It looks like a Penn Arms launcher. http://www.pennarms.com/pgl65-40_data_page.htm

They make both 37mm and 40mm revolving launchers.

I think it would be awesome to have one of those LMT 40mm launchers but seriously, where the hell does ammo come from? you know, ammo worth shooting... something that at least goes bang, or some of those 40mm rounds full of 00 buck shot... none of that flair/smoke/powder crape
grog18b  [Team Member]

There are plenty of sources, if you have the money, and time. ALS sells to civvies, and plenty of distributors for CS/OC type stuff too. I have a rather large personal collection, as well as roll my own. The easiest and cheapest way is to roll your own. Buckshot, flechette, those neat 10/22 and 18/22 adapters Randy Shivak and Nick Ferris sell... Plus several sources of 781 practice. Like I said... Plenty of sources. You just need to know where to look.

As far as the roll your own... I sell two reloading guides that have several types of 37/40mm munitions you can make with simple materials. ... or... you can get deep into it like myself, and design your own casings, projectiles, and whatnot on mini lathes and such. Yes, I have a LOT of cash invested, but the fun of going to the range out back with both my 40mm launchers and blowing through a couple cases... FUN bro, FUN!

If you are really interested in learning more, drop by the forum at http://grog101.forumco.com/default.asp or the home page at http://www.freewebs.com/grog/

New members are always welcome. If you have any tech questions, drop me an EM or PM. GROG

oh, and as soon as ATF sends back my SBR paperwork... I'll have some nice new photos for here.

+1. Grogs forum is well-worth looking into. I learned more there on 40mm goodness
in two days than in every book I could find. Lots of people there who know their stuff.

Free hot-linky for Grog.

buckshot, flechette, and the 18/22 rounds sound fun... the only other one I know of that sounds fun would be the ALS Hornets Nest line

I just cant seem to bring my self to get one without being able to get small explosive rounds for it... even if it just had a little tannerite(or the like) in it to make a nice report it would be worth it to me...

I guess it just seems to me that while it would be fun to shoot, there are more fun rounds out there that we wouldn't be able to get...

haha I wonder how a bear would react to getting hit by a ALS baton round

also, I attempted to sign up for your forum, I'm always up for learning something...

Just an FYI–– Here is what can happen when you place explosive mixtures into a 37mm or 40mm round:
http://www.freewebs.com/grog/safety1.htm

Unless you REALLY know your stuff... I recommend against it. Some of those flash mixtures are shock sensitive. Especially those that are made to explode on the shock of impact with a bullet. GROG

Oh, and I have shot black bears with the x-act impact rounds. They work nice for running them out of your trash cans. I do not recommend shooting them at grizzlies. You will only piss them off.

I don't think I would feel safe firing any report/explosive rounds without the centrifugal fuse thats standard on real 40mm grenades. A close burst, or worse, an accidental burst in the launcher could cause serious injury.

Now that ammunitiontogo is selling 37 and 40mm smoke and CS I might look into getting a DD.
