Colt or LMT for an SBR?
Guys, how do you feel about these two brands? I'm going to get a couple SBR's and have never had an LMT, but I know they used to be well liked/respected. How do you think the two compare, other than one will be 10.5" and the other 11.5"?
Edited to add: IF I went LMT, would it be good to go with their 12" Piston gun???
Thanks for your thoughts!
I feel both are awesome. No idea one the piston concept, but my first SBR was 10.5" and I love it - it's short, handles great, and is a lot of fun to plink!!
If you can catch a 6933 at a good price then get it, but I think the $$$ would be the final figure in you decision.
ETA: spelling
I can't say I'd have any reason to steer you away from either of those choices. Myself, I do like the short ponies, and I have a couple of them. Well, three 6933's. All police trade ins. The LMT's are nice, and I've been eying one of those as well. I haven't dealt with the LMT piston, but I've used a fair number of other piston guns over the years. For the full auto and suppressed shooting that I do, they really shine.
I think you would do good with either gun. The lmt's I've seen came with the sopmod and the a2 style rear sight which are nice touches.
I went the lmt route but with a complete lower I form 1'd. Really like the gun. As far as the difference in the two I think both will work fine.
Can't speak on the 12.5 piston gun but if I personally bought it I think I'd get a 10.5 upper to go with it as well.
