That's actually the upper I threw together for my SBR while I was waiting for my integral for it. But turns out its quieter..(yeah go figure and 11'' x 1.5 can as well) Its just a 1:9 twist AR pistol barrel cut down to 5 inches with a YHM upper and handguard..Oh and the neat little ring on the end of the handguard wrap around the can..Its mostly a CMMG bolt..Extractor is Spikes tactical as are a few other little parts.

My 16 came in alot faster than I had expected (about 30 days) and I did realize you needed the auto trip (which is Spikes as well) so that came in without directions like I was told it would and did panic a bit while waiting for parts when I was told that running rimfire in full auto is a bitch..Hell I bought the 16 just to shoot rimfire.

My first CMMG bolt is just parkerized and I got that running 100% but it gets dirty..So grabbed one of those nickel ones..From what others have been telling me about what a mess these are I should probably start another side job getting these to run for people.. One guy said he has been trying to get his to run for years..

Mags are my biggest problem right now..Just bought a ton and sorting through to find the good ones..then gonna get to work on the ones that won't.

Absolutely no desire to shoot .223..This completly satisfies me..

Someone could make a living tuning 22s to run...

And making them run slower.

In the video description you say the last drum still needs work.

What kind of work are you talking about?

Really are they that bad to get to work? I know Dave of Liberty and Matthew of SWR told me they are a bitch..Hell I could use a fourth job..

I just have to play with the spring tension and the feed lips on that one a bit..I hadn't touched that one yet..I saved it for last figuring it would wreck my perfect run..Then the guy stands in front of the camera..

I'm running 17.6 rounds a second..is that fast for .22?

That's about average for 22LR on an M16 which normally runs 1000-1100 RPM

I currently can't see the video, so is that a 250 round drum? or are you using 5 BDM 50 round drums?

Yep I'm using five 50 round Black dog drums..When you can see it click on my other vids..All labeled H&R M-16 something or other. I'm using the 26 round mags..I prefer those as they always run perfect out of the box but I'm waiting on M60 Joe to make my speed loader from the Ramline loader I just bought and sent to him..Then I'll just load 20 of those up at a time..Just easier to handle and all around hold the gun up..drums get in the way of the grip..Normally I hold the gun by the magwell but that gun was just NIB..Don't want to mark it up..all the original parts were taken out and I protected all the wear points with electrical tape.

I have 2 NIW RAM line loaders :-) and one I modified myselfbut to load the BDM mags, however I only have one 26 round mag now. From where I sold off previous 22LR stuff from failure to run.

I now have an upper I built that runs well, and I have 4 BDM 50 round drums. I think the key was using a CMMG bolt.

Anyway I have a small issue on all the BDM drums, it's with loading, I have to use a screw driver to put slight pressure on the top round and I use my thumb to rotate the drum. If I don't the teeth fail to pick up the rounds which means I don't get a full 50 rounds in the drum. However have had no feeding issues with them.

I think the largest capacity drum for 22LR on an M16 is using the AM 180 275 round drum with a Bazooka Brothers adapter. Unless you go with the AM15 upper but that requires you to swap out your FCG and cost a lot more than just getting the adapter. Also I hear that Lakeside is going to offer the auto trip on the Razorback Beltfeed and then you can run a 10k belt if you wanted too :-)

10k belts? I'm so heading to rehab for this stuff..I heard about the "Brick" in the making..500 round mag..Though not sure what for now..I thought it was for AR conversions like this..I was looking at Wheatly's upper for the AR-180 but then when i realized you had to swap out the FCG everytime you wanted to use it then decided not to..Don't want to put that kind of wear on this lower..Looking at getting another now..shooter grade..I seriously need to stop..Then one could have the 275 round drum and the other for the CMMG bolt..

My PACT MkIV measures my dedicated 10.5" 22lr at 1560 rpm which is over 25 rounds a second. AM180 hits 1800.

So the spikes sear trip will work with the CMMG bolt? I have been waiting for CMMG parts but they are not shipping yet. Are you only useing the trip or also the weight and/or ball and detent? I may have to order that kit from Spikes for now.

Yes the spikes trip and weight work with the CMMG bolt. However the CMMG bolt is not drilled for the ball and detent

Thanks for the confirmation. According to one of the CMMG posts their bolt has not needed any additional weight but I noticed on one of their later "prototypes" they went to a metal forward assist insert where the weight would go on the Ceiner or Spikes so maybe it does. I will give it a try when I can.
