F/A Fire Problem
So, a little background.
I have an issued M16A1 (70s era) at work. The only thing thats orginal on it is the lower, its pretty much been converted to an M4.
Today during training I was practicing doing burts on F/A. What would happen is this.
I could fire 1-2 burts, the bolt would cycle, and a round would chamber, but I could not pull the trigger, it was like the trigger didn't reset. Inspection of the round in the chamber showed the firing pin had impacted it, though not as hard as a spent round, and not as light as a normally chambered round.
Any thoughts on this? S/A works just fine.
Bolt (carrier) bounce.
Up your buffer weight or get a rate reducer.
I'm using a standard buffer now. Would an H2 be good enough? I happen to have one of those - But I dont know much in this field.
I had a similar problem a while back, I changed to an H2 buffer and threw in a Wolff extra power hammer spring, fixed the problem for me
Alright. I'll try the H2 buffer and see what happens...
The H2 should solve your problems unless your hammer spring is very worn. Were the FCG springs changed out when a new upper was installed?
TonyK should make a sticky on Bolt bounce. The topic comes up so often.
