FDE SCAR 17S availability?
Anyone have a lead on one? I finally save up enough scratch and nobody seems to have them in stock.
N/M, found one.

FN has been telling distributers that 99 out of 100 17s have been going overseas. I have heard that from 3 different distributers.

I suppose that news doesn't bode well for short term magazine availability.
Midway is still saying that magazines will be back in stock on 8/28, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've had one on order with my favorite store since Jan.

One sold on Gunbroker last week for $3100

As a guy who overpaid a little for his 16, I would wait for the price to come down. It will, just gotta be patient.

Distributers usually put their high demand items in an "allocated" status. This means that they divvy up the inventory to their sales people in some manner. Sometimes top sales guys get more, over times it is an equal distribution..whatever. Your local shop needs to either be lucky or skilled at weaseling one, or buy shit tons of stuff from a place. I've been lucky a couple times.

Yeppers. I don't fault them- they are a great little shop, but that little part hurts them a bit. Hopefully one day...
I repeat this a lot in the "looking for SCAR 17s and looking for 17s magazine" threads.
Both items are in high demand and low supply from FN so you aren't going to find them at a decent price just by shopping online.
Use the
dealer locatorand start emailing every store you can find with the same copy pasted letter inquiring about the item you want to buy.
Search different zip codes since the maximum search radius is 500 miles.
It would be nice if FN would just have a list of distributors rather then have to mess around with the search function.
That's exactly what I did to find my 17. I got lucky and found some FDE mags at the Greensboro gun show today. There are a few left if anyone is interested. $60 a pop.

Weird how there are tons of Black SCAR 17s, but no black mags and plenty of FDE SCAR mags and no SCAR FDE 17s's.....

SCAR 17 FDE magazines are very hard to find. Almost as hard as finding the gun in stock.
