Help, need info on shipping SCAR to a California dealer
I have a NIB SCAR 17 that a guy in Cali is interested in buying. I am not savvy on thier laws and not too keen on the idea. He pointed me in the direction of OCARMORY to do the transfer for him but I havent contacted them yet. I dont mind hooking a brother up but I dont want to get in any trouble either. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
If it's Cali legal and he wants it. He should send you the payment along with the signed FFL. You can always verify the FFL number through the ATF site.

Contact the FFL, chances are they will pin the stock so it doesn't fold and install a bullet button. The poster above me has no idea what he is talking about. The magazines can be shipped with the rifle as long as they are disassembled.

Send it to Rifle Gear in Fountain Valley, CA.
They sell Scar's there all the time and will exactly what you should do before shipping it. They are not that far from OC Armory.

The absolute easiest thing to do is take off the stock and lower receiver and mail them with everything else that came with the rifle, directly to the guys home. Ship just the barreled receiver to the FFL. A barreled receiver is not a semi-automatic firearm in CA, so no assault weapon laws apply. The buyer can then deal with.how is going to Californicate the rifle on hit own. Bullet button, featureless, kept disassembled, or whatever.
Note: any 20 or 30 round mags should be disassembled and mailed to be guy's house with the other stuff.
I'd walk away and find a buyer in a non communist state. Save yourself the headache.

Big +1.
Strip the firearm and send only the receiver to the FFL, all other parts can go directly to the buyer. There are several ways it can be assembled into a CA-legal configuration or it can be left disassembled and still be legal.

What headache? Its the same procedure as with any firearm, except your dissembling the firearm prior to exporting it to California. Why deny the California firearm owner? That's pretty much want the tards controlling California want.
