Really? Geez man. I've had only the 1 that came with the gun since I bought it early this year.

When are these going to be in stock?

I'm having the opposite problem. One of my local dealers had a pile of them, round 16 mags in FDE, on the shelf. A week later, they were still there, so I started buying and, over the course of the next month, accumulated 9 mags... for a gun that I'm having an impossible time locating.

Same store is working a deal to get a few FDE 17s in the near future, though, and I'm on the wait list.

Oh, and before you ask, the store's sold out of the mags now, finally.

Being Veterans day, let me say this one thing; our men downrange need them far more than you do. Once our guys have enough mags to do a good job of shooting the Muj in the face, then FN can start concentrating on getting mags out to the rest of the SCAR-17 owners.

How many of our men down range use SCARs? I personally never saw one.

midway has something like a 70k back order but if you got to the scar 17 section on fnforums you will find notices of small stores that get them from time to time.
I only have 12 so far for my two 17's

Really?

Let us all know how those 10 different shades of beige work out for you in a couple of years after chipping, fading, and gun-cleaning solvents take their toll.
You know, after the FDE fad wears off.

Black is beautiful.
Tan is grand.
But black is the color for an AmeriCAN.

I really hope mags become available soon. You knows its bad when a used, scratched up 17 FDE mag is selling for $70 on gunbroker and there is still 9 hours left on the auction! and shipping is $6.50 to boot!

The "FDE" mags for the SCAR 16S are funny. They used masking tape to cover part of the mag to paint it FDE/tan. They might as well just have painted the mag completely FDE/tan. Oh well, my $8 new STANAG AR15 mags work fine and look great. The number one reason why I avoided the SCAR 17S was the lack of magazines and the requirement to use a proprietary mag design, the number two reason was the price of .308/7.62 NATO.

Mags will eventually be available (I hope)

I also find while 7.62 is more expensive than 5.56 I shoot less of it in an equal time, its too easy to rapid fire 5.56

Did anyone get any from Midway's 9/30 shipment or did that not happen either.

Don't know but I have had mine on backorder from Midway since Jan 2011 and still waiting. Noticied that are now claiming an availability of Jan 2012 but sure that will change again.

My credit card expired, thats how long mine were on back order.

I gave up and sold the SCAR. Might as well buy a Valmet, Galil or some other wazoo weapon with rare mags.

West Coast Armory in Seattle got 6 FDE mags in last week, and also some black mags (not sure how many). I took 3 of them. Not sure if they have the other 3 left.

My sales rep mentioned that the FN rep said that for each Scar FN ships to the military, FN send 10 mags with it. That's where all the mags are going. To our boys in harms way. Be patient fellas.

I'm not sure, but I feel they can crank out the magazines if they wanted to, how many SCAR MK17s do you think they are shipping to the military? You figure the Special Ops community has a finite number of operators using the MK 17, not nearly as large as regular infantry, then multiply each rifle by 10 magazines. Then factor in civilian demand, and just doing this in my head a production manager worth his/her salt should be able to fulfill civilian demand by this time. Maybe FN has a WWII-era production system where they want civilians to ration their food because the good stuff is being used to fight the bad guys.

SOCOM has an active order for about 15,000 Mk17's. Don't know how many have been delivered so far.

I live in the Mojave. Black gets fucking hot. I'll go with the available alternatives, TYVM.

I've picked up four FDE's in the last month. No idea why they are in some parts of the country and not in others. I think the main reason is some gun shops order them and some don't.

Stop waiting for the FN mags. Use the readily available LR Pmags http://fnforum.net/scar-17-to-kac-magazine-modification-t30419.html

They work great, haven't had a problem yet.

There are also many tutorials over there on how to mod cheap Pmags to work in your SCAR-17S with out modifying your SCAR-17S at all. Mags for every one!!!!
