I'm looking to find an alternative to a $400 drop in trigger kit for the SCAR 16s. Hopefully there is a competent gunsmith who can do a trigger job on my trigger pack. Any ideas?

There are three choices that I have seen for the SCAR:

1. The $400 Geissele 2 stage trigger assembly that is hard to find and expensive
2. NEW option $300 trigger assembly from Timney and is more of a "drop in" and is single stage 3lb
3. Trigger job by Bill Springfield for $75

I have seen and heard mixed results on some of Bill's work as he is cutting springs and grinding on the parts inside the trigger assembly. This is not an AR15 and not too many people know how long the parts will last before you have issues with doubling, etc.
The $400 Geissele is the Cadillac of all triggers but I feel a tad expensive and hard to find.
I opted for option #2 and have one on order, should get it in a couple weeks.
I will report after I get it in.

Stay away from Bill Springfield, he's not an option.

Timney just released a wonderful trigger for about $290.

This will take a huge amount of slop out of the trigger without removing any metal, cut springs etc., and makes the trigger pull much better. Just go to a hardware store and
get a nut to fit the new adjuster screw, and shape the nut so it replaces the factory nut. Pull your pistol grip and reinstall it with your adjuster screw and nut. Then, with the safety on, turn the inner screw up until the tail of the trigger
is pressed lightly against the safety. Use a little blue locktite on the adj. screw. Best part is that all can be changed back to stock in minutes.
I wish I had found this when I did mine, as I had to make my own adjuster, but the same thing was accomplished and I am totally satisfied.
