Yes, they have a ring type crimp like LC brass and alot of newer brass on the market. You'll need to ream/swage it out before priming it when you reload.

Go to ebay and type in RCBS deburring tool and you'll find enough there to satisfy every .50 shooter out there. Plus the prices are cheap, look for the .17-.45cal one, it's easy to chuck up in a drill and do the job fast. Just remember that you only need to remove just enough material to get rid of the crimp, to much and you could ruin the pocket.

I might be wrong, but aren't those for case mouth prep?

Yes, I've seen that tool but am wondering if it will decrimp.....also I will be using the Lee. 50 kit with sizing and seating dies...has anyone had issues with crimped pockets making it difficult to de-prime the case?

I use a friends Lee setup. Pops out those spent primers very well.

So no issues with broken depriming rods? That's good to hear.

Greed. That tool squares pocket bottom, it does nothing to remove the crimp. At best it will leave you with a nice square pocket mouth, which will not be kind to the primer cups.

Sat down tonight to begin case prep on the spent brass from my first outing and after reading alot of horror stories about sizing and depriming at the same time, I decided to give the 1/8 punch a go at depriming.....worked nicely, but those suckers were in there TIGHT. I then removed just enough of the crimp using the RCBS tool (mentioned above) to allow the K&M pocket uniformer clearance and do its thing. I know that these tools can be chucked up, but I really prefer the feel that manual operation gives......thanks everyone for your help.

I use an RCBS 50BMG Crimp Removal tool to remove the crimp:

Then an RCBS 50BMG Primer Pocket Uniformer to uniform the primer pocket:

I use these with the RCBS Case Prep Center, but both can be used in a cordless drill, or with a hand tool
