Anyone know anything about the Hesse HBR50

I just picked up a Hesse HBR50, it's my first 50 cal. I got some Federal American Eagle XM33 ammo and the empty cases stick in the chamber. Is this normal. If not what can be done to fix it. I got the gun used.
Thanks in advance for any help

I do not know this particular rifle nor have I owned one. If there's one thing everybody seems to agree on in the AR world though, it is that Hesse anything is garbage.

Somebody is going to come along and say "But you don't own one how do you know?" And that is true, however I've never had syphilis either but I'm also going to avoid it based on what people say about it.

I would not, even on a dare, shoot a .50 BMG cartridge out of anything produced by Hesse.

Sorry dude. You bought a Hesse. Not a good thing to do. Friends don't let friends buy Hesse.

Ouch... I'd try to get your money back.

Hesse, Vulcan, etc... have a very poor track record.

I would try to get my money back If not then call Hesse and see if their monkeys can fix it, probably a extarctor issue, or maybe a chamber issue

I sure wished you would have posted here 1st. Hesse is not good and the only other Hesse Ive seen a a gun shop had the brake cockeyed with a bolt that needed a hammer (no kidding the guy had a plastic hammer that went with the gun).

Good luck

Hesse is the ONLY manufacturer BANNED for shooting in 50 Cal matches by the FCSA.

People have gotten seriously hurt shooting them.
They have a habit if disassembling themselves at a high rate of speed...

If you're lucky, it'll only disassemble itself. But, you've got a good chance of it doing that to your face as well.

This guys okay with his Hesse. If someone is able to throw a sizable chunk of change into trash and not do a google search on it first then it's my understanding said buyer will not miss his money. Sorry Bro but I wouldn't risk my life pulling the trigger on your rifle.

Not to sound like a broken record , Nothing I have seen of Hesse has ever been good , I have been gunsmithing for 15 years and have tried to fix the Following Hesse firearms
Hesse "FAL" Bad castings ,improper tolerances , normally have to use all kinds of out of spec parts to make them function. most suffer stress crack somewhere along the way.
Hesse "G-3 HK-91 clone . Again , bad castings , almost impossible to get a Cocking tube to line up , requires you to heat up tube and Twist to fit
Anything I have seen Hesse cast is garbage , like they got the formula's out a 1930's foundry Manual.
Try to get your money back .

Every Hesse product is an accident about to happen.

the Vulcan that is banned at FCSA competitions is the old interupted thread bolt design.
The new type, three lug Vulcans have slightly better reputation.

Have it checked out by a COMPETENT .50 gunsmith.
If you can't find one PM me and I'll recommend one.

Hesse and Vulcan:

Lots of people report in the first person about them and know damn little about them in the first person and have never even held or seen one.
I had one of the -200's now sold to a class 6 who uses it for load development.
Reason for selling = BS put out by the FCSA. NO OTHER REASON.
The 3 lobe bolt is one of the strongest actions around in the 50 world. Two of my mag fed 50's use the same design, just not in a shell holder action.
ONE kaboom, in the interrupted thread model that has not been made since 1993 IIRC.

Couple other current manufacturers have more kabooms and more injuries, than Blackthorn, Vulcan, Hesse, COMBINED.

Would I buy another, nope, but I sure as hell would not be put off by what I already had.

That's the kind of question you're supposed to ask BEFORE you buy...
