What type of bullet is this please.
A friend sent me this 50 Caliber bullet because he had no idea of what he had. Frankly I have no idea what it is either. It weighs 686 grains and the interior part of the bullet is made from Magnetic steel. The diameter is .510 and the length is 2.698 inches long. I would appreciate anyone that knows what this is to let me know so I can tell my friend.
Thank you
Ron
Armor-Piercing-Incendiary-Tracer, M20 , me thinks
Short range training ammo bullet?
LRTA....Limited Range Training Ammunition. Appears to be the IVI / SNC (Canada) version of LRTA. Ball with an empty tracer cavity, tracer if the cavity is filled.

Thank you Keith, I appreciate this. I've messed with a bunch of 50 stuff but this was a first for me.

Interesting. Learn something new every day.

Thanks Keith and MrBen, that is some seriously cool information.
<eta: just ordered 10 of them from polygunbag.com>
First thing I noticed is the 4 fins on the tail end. And thought that would kill the spin quicker. Makes sense that the range would be limited. And got to ask, if the cavity is empty. How would that effect building up pressure to start the bullet moving and overall what that does to muzzle velocity?
