"This is new brass, not reloads or seconds."

Can`t buy new brass alone at that price. A complete round for $1.50?

"2800 FPS ( Unlike military grade 3300 FPS,"

3300 FPS? Hmmmmm...............

Gotta wonder where this info is coming from.

Someone is smoking some serious dope if they think M8 API will run 3300 fps, even out of a 42"+ Ma Deuce barrel. 2800 fps is probably pretty close to the normal velocity. If I ordered any, i'd sure pull it apart and weigh a random 10% of rounds to see if they were consistently charged and had a reasonable weight of powder in them.

They're definitely NOT downloaded if they're 2800 fps.

They have some great deals on there. "lightly" used USGI mags for $5 a piece, I am very tempted to order.

Glad I'm not the only one that read that and thought WTF?

Had some 647 grain projos running almost 3000 FPS the other day. Back end of the cartridge was not something I really want to talk about. Flattened primers and bolt head markings on the case head were seen. This was out of a 30 inch barrel. 3300 FPS would be an interesting event for anyone with anything in that caliber. Backing down the charge on the next trip out.

About 240 grains of H50BMG?

213 gr. of IMR 5010. New production. 5.45" OAL.

Found out today that the M33 projos I bought weren`t resized. May have something to do with the 200 FPS spread I was getting. Unsure. Charge weights were meticulously measured out.

I expect that your chronograph was reading some unburnt powder particles. Might want to move it a little further out.

Out of round projectiles will give you variations in velocity and will spike chamber pressure but they can't give you extremly high velocity, in my experience.

Was the bolt tight to open? When I had 50's, the primer pockets were almost always flat, even with mild loads. Whether or not a bolt is tight is the go-to sign of chamber pressure in a 50.

It seemed to me that the bolt was a little harder than usual to open on a few of the rounds that went high enough to make my eyes get wide. On the ones that did, the primers were starting to back out. Still have a few rounds that were loaded with the suspect projos from the last outing. Using the same distance from the chrony with another surplus bullet I was trying, the speeds were much more consistent with the same powder. Hopefully going back out tomorrow to work on some more loads and see what kind of speeds & accuracy I can get. Thanks for the info David. Will try moving the chrony out further just to see what happens.

So has anybody ordered from these guys or what?

Xringlover,

I was getting some weird readings off of my crony myself. Talked to the maker and he made two suggestions. 1) if I had the two sets of wires tied together. To untie them cause of cross talk. 2) move the remote control box to under the bench cause the concussion can cause the plug and jacks to make and break connections to cause false signals that looks like the sensors being tripped. As soon as I moved the control box under the bench out of the blast, every thing settled down . Might not be the same thing happening to you. But it might help if you have the control box on top of the bench.

I would never buy ammo that was loaded by some guy named Bob in his garage. These are not factory rounds.

Thanks for the suggestion MP! I had read that somewhere so now I put my readout on the other side of a barrier that is blocking the muzzle blast from the display unit. Has helped. David made a suggestion earlier in this topic that the chrony should be moved further out from the muzzle as it may be reading unburnt powder from the muzzle. Took mine out today and did just what he suggested. All of my readings were more consistent and using the same ammo I was getting almost 3000 FPS from, all dropped to around 2700 FPS which is where they should have been running at. Lots of great folks on this forum with lots of good experience to share! Glad I am here! Thanks again!

P.S. Thank you David for your suggestion too. Worked like a champ!
