Buddy of mine is letting a bunch of us try his .50. We found a place that has surplus linked ammo, but no idea how to delink it. Did a google search and found one thread that talked about just placing the bullet on a hard surface and pushing on the links. The video that was attached showed .308 ammo. Just wondering if this would be a good way to delink surplus ammo??
Best method I've found is to take a small section of 2x4 and drill a shallow hole into it, then you press each rounds tip into the hole and pop it out of the link. It can be a little tedious at first with the disintegrating links but gets quicker the more you get used to it.
another method that i've never had much luck with is that you can twist and pull the round out of the link. with older surplus that is not in the best condition this can get frustrating real quick.
Just put on a pair of glove, grab ahold of the first round pull and twist and it will come out of the link. Repeat as necessary to umlink all of the rounds.

The hand linker-delinker only goes for about $20. At the last Knob Creek they had a few at $10.

This is what I did with the AIM Singapore.
