I have a buddy who has a E.D.M. BMG model 50. Its not a windrunner or any of the others. He was telling me this model was only made for a short while so its not a common gun. Its a single shot, no magazine or anything. Apparently it was made in 2003. Anyone know if this gun differes from the popular windrunner or any of the other offerings from E.D.M? I think he is willing to sell it to me for $2500 with no scope...just the rings and bi-pod. Good deal or should I pass? Thanks for any help or info you may have. Thx!

I built a rifle on the SA-99 action and I paid $1750 for the action alone, which was a steal. So yes, a complete rifle for $2500 sounds like a great deal to me.

That is awful cheap. What does he mean by it being set up for a left handed person? Sure looks right handed to me.

Yep, it was that one And I went ahead and bought it. Looks like im a new .50 cal owner. Im going to need a good scope for it. Do you guys have any you prefer? Under $1,000 is what I hoping to stay under...

Site sponser SWFA has some good Black Friday deals through this Monday on some of their .50 cal rated scopes.

You got a good deal. The differences from my low serial # Windrunner to your gun are: unfluted barrel, doesn't look like a detachable muzzle brake (that 'wasps nest' version sucks IMHO), longer bipod mount, and nicer adjustable bipod. I'm running a Millett LRS on my gun right now. It's held up to over 2K rounds so far, and the optics are good.

yes, an interesting looking brake. 2003 time frame when it was made. From what I understand, there have been many improvements in brakes in the past several years. Might think about cutting off that built in brake and get it turned and threaded for something like the Armilite clam shell brake.

Bill made those rifles so that he could offer another rifle to his line for people that didn't have the money for a model 96. I think he was selling the model 50 for about 4K.

The newer M96's have a fishgill type of brake on them, Bill changed them quite a few years back.
