Got a chance to pick one up for $60 delivered. I'm looking for a good EDC and I know there are cheaper ones out there, but from looking at this knife for the price, is this a good deal?

I think mine was $90 at Cabela's. It's a great knife. If I lost it I'd buy another that day.

My EDC is a 555 mini grip, and I have to say I like it a lot. Went for the hollow ground blade, and don't regret it. Picked it up a couple years ago off Ebay for around the same price (~$65 delivered) and they're a great value at that price.

I'd also be looking for deals on the mini barrage, if you're into assisted open knives.

x2 Love mine and I paid $85 or so at Cabelas.

Mine is D2 steel so it holds an edge very well.

The Griptillian is one of the best feeling knives I have ever held/used. I prefer the standard size the mini is just as good. The AXIS lock is simply awsome. It is simple and smooth.

Great knife.
I opted for the Doug Ritter version, mostly because I liked the blade design over the standard version.

(not my pic)

The 551 is a fine size for pocket carry, if you find the 556 to be too small.

thanks for all the replies. I went ahead and got it, my wife will be picking it up this weekend, but i won't get to use until I get back from this deployment (next month ). At least she can carry it for a while and determine if she wants one too.

Sucker. What you will find out is not that she wants one too but that you now have to order yourself a new one. I lost more than 1 knife to spousal confiscation.

One of my primary edc's is a blue 556. Fantastic all around knife. I have 2 one blue one yellow as a backup. And the bright colors help if dropped in the grass or woods which has happened a few times

My EDC is a Mini-Grip, with sandstone scales and partially serrated Tanto blade. I love this knife!

At $60 you should have bought a dozen or more! Excellent buy!

Good luck.

It's the perfect size for an EDC for me. I carry mine daily, may pick up another just because.

I have the same knife and I got it locally for $64 + tax, so I'd say you got a good price on it.
I love it. The length is not such that sheeple will cower in fear when you whip it out. The lack of spring assist also helps calm the sheeple. It's my EDC.
I wish they had the secondary lock like the Barrage spring assist knives (though I still have much faith in the AXIS lock)

ETA:

I am in the market for the 557 Mini (plain tanto blade)

I just picked up one to be my EDC. I was using a Kershaw Chive as my EDC, but I was finding it to be a little small. My go-to knife at home has been an SOG Flash II, but it's a little ungainly in business casual attire at work. I've been carrying the Benchmade mini-griptillian for a week now and it's the perfect size and weight.

I picked it up for $68.
